Chinese New Year is this weekend, and as we gather to celebrate with friends and family, how can we honour Jesus amid the food, fun and fellowship? 

1. Honour our parents and elders. While we do not worship our ancestors, we are commanded to respect and honour those who have come before us. 
2. Don’t gossip! Chinese New Year gatherings can be filled with drama and gossip. Stay away from conversations that tear others down or could cause fractures in relationships. Let’s have edifying conversations this year. 
3. Amid the abundance, take care of your bodies and remember the poor. Avoid gluttony and overeating, and make and effort to bless those who have less.
